Tori McKinney Named to USA’s 3×3 U23 FIBA World Cup Roster

MINNEAPOLIS – Minnesota women’s basketball guard Tori McKinney is headed to the 3×3 U23 FIBA World Cup. McKinney and Team USA punched their ticket after capturing the Americas Conference title back in July.

The tournament, which ran from June 27 to July 3 in Ñuñoa, Chile, featured a six-day schedule structured as individual “stops.” The USA squad dominated the Americas North division, accumulating the necessary points to secure the conference’s qualifying berth.

With the tournament victory, McKinney and her USA teammates will travel to Wuhan, China to compete in the 2026 FIBA 3×3 U23 World Cup, scheduled for Sept. 15-19.

The 3×3 discipline is played on a half-court with a 12-second shot clock. Games are a sprint to 21 points or concluded after 10 minutes, demanding peak conditioning and rapid execution.

McKinney is coming off her sophomore season, where she helped lead the Golden Gophers to their first Sweet Sixteen appearance in more than two decades. The Minnetonka, Minn., native was a Second (coaches) and Third (media) All-Big Ten selection and earned All-Big Ten Defensive Team honors. She set Minnesota’s single-season assist/turnover ratio record at 2.20. She was a spark on the Maroon and Gold’s offense, averaging a team-high 12.7 points per game, up from 10.6 her freshman year. In Minnesota’s last 11 regular-season games, the guard averaged 15.9 points per game, tallied 33 assists and led the team with 24 steals during that stretch.

Fiso Named to USA’s 3×3 U23 World Cup Roster

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Oregon guard Katie Fiso has been selected to the 2026 USA 3×3 Women’s U23 National Team that will compete at the 2026 FIBA 3×3 U23 World Cup from Sept. 15-19 in Wuhan, China, USA Basketball announced on Wednesday.

Fiso will join three other Division I athletes in McKinna Brackens (Arizona State), Dani Carnegie (Georgia) and Tori McKinney (Minnesota), who together won the 2026 FIBA 3×3 Nations League Americas North Conference in Ñuñoa, Chile in July. The quartet will be reunited under head coach Todd Monsey.

In May, Fiso participated in USA Basketball’s 3×3 Developmental camp in Phoenix and the subsequent USA Basketball 3X Showcase in Mesa, Arizona. Fiso and teammates Carnegie and McKinney took home the 3X Showcase title. Fiso was also part of USA’s gold-medal winning team at the 2022 FIBA 3×3 U18 Women’s World Cup.

Fiso is coming off a breakout sophomore campaign in which she led the Ducks with 15.5 points and 6.2 assists per game, earning her second-team all-Big Ten honors. The Seattle product handed out 222 assists last season, the fourth-highest total in a single season in UO history, while producing a Big Ten-best seven points-assists double-doubles.

The USA women will begin play in Pool D on Sept. 16 against Japan at 12:50 a.m. PT, followed by a matchup with Kenya at 5:50 a.m. PT. Pool play will continue Sept. 18 against Slovenia at 2:30 a.m. PT and Australia at 5:25 a.m. PT.

Following pool play, the top two teams from each of the four five-team pools will move on to the quarterfinals on Sept. 19.

The 2026 FIBA 3×3 U23 World Cup will stream live on YouTube.com/FIBA3x3.

Aerial Powers Shares Inspiring Update on Team USA’s FIBA 3×3 Journey

Former Indiana Fever guard Aerial Powers shared an update about representing the United States in international competition. Powers posted about her experience suiting up for Team USA in three FIBA 3×3 events in August.

Powers, who last played for the Fever last season, expressed her gratitude for the honor of donning a Team USA jersey. She posted some of her favorite photos from the competition on social media.

“3 different countries in 30 days. What a blessing ,” Powers captioned her Instagram post. “Here are some pics that warmed my heart so I wanted to share . Next vlog posting 2morrow”

Powers joined Madison Scott, Mikayla Blakes and Taylor Bigby on the national team roster. They played in the FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series in Tokyo, Bordeaux, and Debrecen. The Americans’ best finish came in Bordeaux, where they placed third. Powers’ best performance came in Debrecen, where she scored nine points in the game.

The 5-foot-8 guard played a combined 10 games in the WNBA last season. She suited up twice for the Golden State Valkyries before playing eight games for the Fever towards the end of the 2025 season.

Powers wasn’t able to secure a new deal with any WNBA team in the offseason, which ultimately resulted in the fifth overall pick in the 2015 draft signing with Turkish club Canakkale Belediyespor. The 2019 WNBA champion and former All-Rookie Team selection then spent time with Athletes Unlimited Pro Basketball in late 2025.

Powers averaged 7.4 points, 3.9 rebounds and 2.0 assists in 16.7 minutes per game in her last season in the WNBA.

MINNEAPOLIS – Minnesota’s Tori McKinney was selected to USA’s U23 3×3 Nations League Team that will participate in the 2026 FIBA 3×3 Nations League Americas Conference June 27-July 3 in Ñuñoa, Chile, the organization announced Tuesday. McKinney, along with five other Division I women’s basketball student-athletes, was selected by the respective women’s USA Basketball 3×3 National Team committee.

The 2026 FIBA 3×3 Nations League Americas Conference North will feature six three-game tournaments over seven days. The competition will run in a ‘stops’ format, with multiple stops held over the course of the weeklong event. Teams will accumulate points based on their performance in each stop. Team members can substitute as needed for each day’s four-person entry.

The FIBA 3×3 Nations League will be a qualification route to the 2026 FIBA 3×3 U23 World Cup. Conference winners will qualify for the event, set for Sept. 15-19 in Wuhan, China. China men and women will receive automatic qualification along with the reigning champions (Lithuania men and Netherlands women). The rest of the teams will come from the winners of each conference and the next teams in the FIBA 3×3 Nations League 2026 final standings.
