DEBRECEN (Hungary) – The FIBA 3×3 World Tour 2026 just finished its tenth stop, and one team is beginning to separate itself from the pack. Baskets Bonn (GER) made it three World Tour titles in a row in Debrecen, extending their winning streak to 16 games and giving Fabian Giessmann his third MVP award of the season.

Here are the biggest takeaways from Debrecen.

New team to beat

Baskets Bonn’s run is no longer just a hot streak. After winning in WT Amsterdam and WT Lausanne, Bonn completed a remarkable hat-trick in Debrecen, becoming the first team to win three FIBA 3×3 World Tour stops in 2026.

Their latest triumph also extended their World Tour winning streak to 16 games, including their Qualifying Draw wins. That consistency has put Bonn alone at the top of the 2026 stop-winners list, with Liman (SRB) and Ub (SRB) each having won twice, while Miami (USA), Hangzhou Jingwei (CHN) and Amsterdam RABOBANK (NED) have one WT stop win apiece.

With seven stops still to come before the FIBA 3×3 World Tour Final in Rio de Janeiro on December 12-13, Bonn have given the rest of the circuit plenty to chase.

Building an MVP collection

Three Bonn titles have brought three MVP trophies for German unicorn Fabian Giessmann. After being named MVP in Amsterdam and Lausanne, Giessmann collected the award again in Debrecen as Bonn continued their extraordinary run.

His latest performance was another all-around display. Giessmann finished the tournament with 45 points, 18 rebounds, 10 two-pointers, eight free throws and four dunks, while registering two double-fives.

The numbers, though, tell only part of the story. Giessmann has consistently delivered in the biggest moments for Bonn, including hitting the title-clinching two-pointer over no less that Worthy de Jong in the WT Debrecen Final.

Race remains wide open

While Bonn have created some separation at the top, the battle for the remaining World Tour titles is far from settled. Past winn ers Liman, Ub, Miami, Hangzhou Jingwei and Amsterdam RABOBANK remain capable contenders. Other teams like Antwerp, Ulaanbaatar MMC Energy and Raudondvaris Hoptrans have also gotten so close. With seven stops remaining before Rio, there is still plenty of time for the pecking order to change.

Debrecen pushes 3×3 forward

The action in Debrecen extended well beyond the court. The Hungarian city marked 12 consecutive years of hosting 3×3 basketball events, dating back to the FIBA 3×3 U18 World Championships in 2015, while welcoming its 11th consecutive World Tour stop in 2026.

The event also featured the first live 3D broadcast of a 3×3 basketball event, offering fans around the world an immersive new way to experience the atmosphere from Kossuth Square.

It was another reminder that Debrecen’s place on the 3×3 basketball calendar is about more than longevity. The city’s hosting continues to evolve alongside the sport.

Setting the benchmark

With Debrecen now in the books, the FIBA 3×3 World Tour 2026 moves into deeper into its second half stretch. With seven stops remaining before the World Tour Rio de Janeiro Final, contenders have plenty of opportunities to close the gap on Bonn.

For now, however, the message from Debrecen is clear: Baskets Bonn have reset the standard.

Three titles. Sixteen straight wins. Three MVP awards for Giessmann.

The question now is simple: who can stop them?

DEBRECEN (Hungary) – The FIBA 3×3 World Tour 2026 heads to Debrecen on August 29-30, bringing together some of the biggest names on the circuit and several players arriving with plenty to prove and looking for breakthrough results.

From the standard-setting Strahinja Stojacic to recent Challenger winners James Parrott and Fabian Giessmann, there will be no shortage of players capable of taking over a game. Here are eight players to keep an eye on in Debrecen.

Strahinja Stojacic (Ub)

Doctor Strange remains the benchmark. Stojacic continues to lead all World Tour players in overall player value, and his form has been impossible to overlook. The Serbian recently helped Ub (SRB) claim wins at the Bordeaux Challenger and Antwerp Quest, adding to a season in which the world’s No. 1 team has already collected two World Tour stop wins. With another title in their sights, expect Stojacic to once again be at the center of everything Ub does in Debrecen.

Debrecen also holds a special place for Stojacic, as this is where he made his 3×3 basketball debut back in 2018.

James Parrott (Miami)

Parrott arrives in Hungary fresh from helping Miami (USA) win the FISE Birmingham Challenger, giving the American team another boost heading into their latest World Tour appearance. One of the most exciting players to watch on the circuit, Parrott has the ability to change the game in an instant with his scoring and creativity. Miami already have one World Tour stop win this season and will be looking to double that tally in Debrecen.

Dorde Simeunovic (Liman)

Few big men on the World Tour bring the combination of size, mobility and skill that Simeunovic does. The Liman (SRB) forward has established himself as one of the circuit’s most dynamic scoring threats and will be central to their hopes in Debrecen. Liman will be looking for a response after finishing fifth at the Bordeaux Challenger and ninth at World Tour Lausanne, making Simeunovic one of the players to watch as they look to get back into the mix.

Worthy de Jong (Amsterdam RABOBANK)

There are few players who bring as much experience and personality to a World Tour court as de Jong, and the Dutch veteran has continued to deliver for Amsterdam RABOBANK (NED) despire some injury setbacks. He led Amsterdam to the World Tour Vienna title and has also helped them to podium finishes at World Tour Amsterdam, the Singapore Challenger and the Beijing Challenger. With fans likely to embrace one of the circuit’s most recognizable names, de Jong should be among the players attracting plenty of attention in Debrecen.

Evaldas Džiaugys (Raudondvaris Hoptrans)

Džiaugys has been a major part of Raudondvaris Hoptrans‘ (LTU) strong recent run, leading the Lithuanian side to a runner-up finish at World Tour Lausanne before another fifth-place finish at the Beijing Challenger. That said, Raudondvaris are still searching for their first World Tour stop win of the season. Of course, Džiaugys will be one of the key pieces in their bid to finally get over the line in Debrecen.

Nauris Miezis (Ulaanbaatar MMC Energy)

Miezis came agonizingly close to a World Tour title in WT Ulaanbaatar, and he will get another opportunity to help Ulaanbaatar MMC Energy (MGL) make that breakthrough in Debrecen. This will be Miezis’ third World Tour stop appearance of the season after missing Lausanne, and his experience and scoring ability could prove crucial for a team still chasing its first World Tour victory of 2026.

Fabian Giessmann (Baskets Bonn)

Giessmann and Baskets Bonn (GER) have been one of the teams to beat in recent weeks. They are coming off a World Tour Lausanne victory and followed that up with another title at the Beijing Challenger. Giessmann has also established his place among the top five World Tour players this season in overall player value, underlining just how important he has been to Bonn’s success. Another strong showing in Debrecen could put the German side in position to claim their third World Tour stop win of the year.

Cameron Forte (Shanghai)

Forte has been knocking on the door of a major breakthrough all season. He has led Shanghai to the Semi-Finals at each of his last three Challenger appearances in Hanchuan, Uenohara and Beijing. His most recent performance in Beijing was particularly eye-catching, as Forte led the entire field in both total points and overall player value while recording multiple double-fives and even a triple-five game. Shanghai are still searching for their first World Tour stop win of the season, though. If Forte can reproduce that kind of production in Debrecen, they could be a serious threat to make a run at it.

The 2026 USA 3×3 Women’s Nations League Team features six NCAA Division I athletes, including Agara, Imari Berry, McKinna Brackens, Dani Carnegie, Katie Fiso and Tori McKinney.

 

Agara owns a gold medal from the 2022 FIBA U17 Women’s World Cup and competed in the 2023 Nike Hoop Summit. Fiso returns to FIBA 3×3 competition for the first time since winning a gold medal at the 2022 FIBA 3×3 U18 Women’s World Cup.

The 2026 FIBA 3×3 Nations League Americas Conference North will feature six three-game tournaments over seven days. The competition will run in a ‘stops’ format, with multiple stops held over the course of the weeklong event. Teams will accumulate points based on their performance in each stop. Team members can substitute as needed for each day’s four-person entry.

 

The FIBA 3×3 Nations League will be a qualification route to the 2026 FIBA 3×3 U23 World Cup. Conference winners will qualify for the event, set for Sept. 15-19 in Wuhan, China. China men and women will receive automatic qualification along with the reigning champions (Lithuania men and Netherlands women). The rest of the teams will come from the winners of each conference and the next teams in the FIBA 3×3 Nations League 2026 final standings.

3×3 is played on a half court with a 10-minute clock and a 12-second shot clock. The first team to 21 points, or the team in the lead at the end of regulation, is the winner.

Basketball Australia is pleased to announce the men and women’s Under-23 teams for the FIBA 3×3 Youth Nations League 2026 – Asia West/Pacific, taking place in Singapore from 20-26 August.

Devan Craig, Keegan Phillips, Griffin Biwer and Will Mahoney will pull on the green and gold for the men, while Tayla Brazel, Carla Pitman, Lulu Twidale and Catelyn Van Es make up the women’s team.

Australia will face hosts Singapore, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain and Turkmenistan across six stops, with every result counting towards the final Asia West/Pacific standings.

A strong week in Singapore could punch Australia’s ticket to the world stage, with qualification for next month’s FIBA 3×3 Under-23 World Cup in Hubei, China, on the line.

There is a stack of 3×3 and senior experience packed into Australia’s lineup, led by Biwer’s time playing professionally in Japan with Utsunomiya BREX.EXE.

Craig and Phillips teamed up for Perth at the Shibuya Challenger in Japan earlier this year after winning the 3×3 Champs in Ballarat, while Mahoney has international runs on the board too, representing Brisbane in Macau and Shenzhen last year.

Adelaide Lightning’s Brazel has already caught the eye in the 3×3 space, earning an invitation to the senior Gangurrus camp in Cairns earlier this year, while Pitman will arrive in Singapore fresh off Defensive Player of the Year honours with Mount Gambier in NBL1 South.

For Van Es, Singapore is the latest opportunity in a big 12 months, with the 20-year-old recently securing a second season as a Development Player with reigning WNBL champions Townsville Fire.

Twidale arrives off a career-best season with the University of California, averaging 16.2 points per game and earning All-ACC Second Team honours while setting a new program single-season record with 101 three-pointers.

All the action gets underway this Thursday, with both teams drawn in Pool B for the opening stop.

The women open their campaign against Qatar at 5:30pm AEST before taking on Turkmenistan at 9:10pm, while the men face the same opponents at 7:45pm and 9:35pm, respectively.

The FIBA 3×3 World Tour 2025 is set for a dramatic showdown in Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain, as the world’s best men’s 3×3 teams will compete for the ultimate prize in 3×3 basketball on 21-22 November 2025.

A total of 12 teams, who have qualified through the World Tour circuit, will descend on the Kingdom for this 15^th and final stop. Following successful back-to-back hosting of World Tour events in 2023 and 2024, Bahrain proudly hosts the prestigious World Tour Final for the very first time.

Set against the vibrant backdrop of Manama harbour, fans of the most thrilling urban team sport will enjoy two days of world-class basketball action and an unparalleled urban festival atmosphere.
