IOWA CITY, Iowa (KCRG) – University of Iowa women’s basketball guard Dani Carnegie will play for the United States in the FIBA 3×3 U23 World Cup.

She will play alongside Arizona State’s McKinna Brackens, Oregon’s Katie Fiso and Minnesota’s Tori McKinney.

The youth team won the 2026 FIBA 3×3 Nations League Americas North Conference in July in Chile.

Carnegie transferred to Iowa in the offseason. She was named First Team All-SEC during her time at Georgia.

The women’s U.S. team will play against Japan, Kenya, Slovenia and Australia on September 16 and 18.

If they get first or second place in the group, they will move on to quarterfinals on September 19.

3×3 is a quicker, smaller game than college basketball. The 3-person-teams compete to get to 21 points and are up to 10 minutes long.

Valkyries’ guard Veronica Burton will represent USA Basketball in the 2026 FIBA 3×3 Champions Cup in Bangkok from March 13-15. The U.S. women will make their debut in the event’s second iteration, while the men competed in the event’s debut last year. The American teams qualified for the 3×3 Champions Cup by virtue of winning the 2025 FIBA 3×3 AmeriCup last November in Leon, Mexico. The 2026 USA 3×3 Women’s Champions Cup Team comprises Veronica Burton, Shakira Austin, Allisha Gray and Naz Hillmon, who played together and won the gold medal at the 2025 FIBA 3×3 AmeriCup.

The women’s team features 2020 Olympic champion Gray, who made her return to the national team stage in November. She is joined by Burton, who is a 2022 FIBA 3×3 U23 World Cup silver medalist and 2022 FIBA 3×3 AmeriCup bronze medalist. Austin, who has attended previous USA Basketball 3×3 development camps, and Hilmon made their USA 3×3 national team debuts at the 3×3 AmeriCup. All four have USA 5-on-5 experience with Austin winning a gold medal at the 2022 FIBA Women’s World Cup and Burton most recently participating in the December 2025 USA Women’s National Team training camp.

The women tip off Pool A on March 13 with Madagascar (10:20 a.m. ET) followed by matchups with Netherlands (7:30 a.m. ET) and Australia (9:30 a.m. ET) on March 14. The men have a pair of Pool B games on March 13 against Netherlands (7:30 a.m. ET) and Madagascar (9:30 a.m. ET), with their final pool contest vs. Australia on March 14 (10:30 a.m. ET). Following pool play, the top two teams from each of the two four-team pools advance to the semifinals. The FIBA 3×3 Champions Cup features eight teams per gender, including continental champions, World Cup winners, top-ranked nations and hosts Thailand. The winners of the 2026 FIBA 3×3 Champions Cup will secure direct qualification to the 2027 FIBA 3×3 World Cup, 2027 FIBA 3×3 Champions Cup and the Cups-based Olympic Qualification Tournament in 2028.

TORONTO – James Madison guard Bree Robinson earned a spot on Canada’s roster for the FIBA U23 3×3 Nations League 2026 – Americas North in Ñuñoa, Chile, from June 27- July 3, as announced by Canada Basketball on Thursday afternoon.

The Americas conference will feature six three-game tournaments in seven days, including daily pool play and a final. Teams earn tour standing points after each one-day event. The best-ranked team in the standings after the sixth day will be declared winners of their conference and qualify for the FIBA 3×3 U23 World Cup 2026, taking place September 15–19 in Wuhan, China.

In addition to Robinson, representing Canada on the women’s roster are Achol Akot (Ottawa, Ontario), Mary-Anna Asare (Pickering, Ontario), Marah Dykstra (Vancouver, British Columbia), Skylar Forbes (Markham, Ontario), and T’yana Todd (Vaughan, Ontario). The team will be led by Head Coach Dianna Ros.

The Mississauga, Ontario native already boasts international experience, having been named one of Canada’s three captains for the 2021 FIBA U16 Americas Championship, where Robinson’s team earned silver. Robinson also helped guide Canada to a fourth-place finish at the FIBA U17 Women’s World Cup in 2022.

The guard is no stranger to 3×3 basketball, having competed for JMU at the 2025 USA Basketball 3X Nationals alongside Ashanti Barnes, Peyton McDaniel, and Zakiya Stephenson last May in Mesa, Ariz. There, the Dukes defeated South Dakota State and Team Phoenix to reach the quarterfinals of the competition.

In 2025-26, Robinson played an instrumental role in the Dukes’ Sun Belt Conference Championship title season, starting all 35 games while averaging 11.9 points, 2.7 rebounds, and 2.3 steals per contest. Her 82 steals tied the single-season program record with Jess Cichowicz (2002-03), landing her a spot on this past season’s All-Sun Belt Defensive Team. An elite two-way player, Robinson scored a career-high 30 points on 13-of-19 (.684) from the field to go with four steals against Old Dominion on Feb. 14. Following the performance, she was named Player of the Week by Canada Basketball.

3×3 has a 10-minute game clock and is played in the half-court format, with a 12-second shot clock. The first team to hit 21 points or lead at the end of regulation wins the game.

ÑUÑOA, CHILE – Hitting the international stage representing her home country of Canada, North Carolina women’s basketball forward Achol Akot travels south to Chile to compete in the 2026 FIBA 3×3 Nations League Americas Conference from June 27-July 3.

Akot transferred to Carolina this offseason after spending a season at Oklahoma State, setting new career-highs in multiple categories. The Ottawa, Canada, native posted 12.1 points per game this past year, ranking second in the Big 12 in field goal percentage shooting 63.3% from the floor.

Boasting previous international experience with Canada, Akot competed last summer in 3×3 at the Women’s Series Vienna Stop and in 2023 at the FIBA U19 Women’s Basketball World Cup.

Competing in six three-game tournaments over seven days, Akot and Team Canada look to qualify for the 2026 FIBA 3×3 U23 World Cup in September in China.
