Oakland’s Swartz to Play in FIBA 3×3 Nations League Americas Conference

COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – USA Basketball announced the 2026 USA 3×3 Men’s and Women’s Nations Leagues teams set to compete at the 2026 FIBA 3×3 Nations League Americas Conference June 27-July 3 in Ñuñoa, Chile. Oakland sophomore transfer Brady Swartz will make his USA debut after being named to the men’s team on Wednesday.

The 6-7 guard came to Rochester after playing his freshman year at Western Michigan. With the Broncos, he started 17 games, totaling 192 points while averaging 7.7 points per game and 4.6 rebounds per game. He went 62-for-152 from the field, 29-for-85 from deep, and scored a season-high 20 points at Ohio State back in November.

Along with Swartz, the 2026 USA 3×3 Men’s Nations League roster includes NCAA athletes Hank Alvey, CJ Gunn, Kevair Kennedy, Pace Prosser, and Eric Dailey Jr.

The 2026 FIBA 3×3 Nations League Americas Conference North will feature six three-game tournaments over seven days. The competition will run in a ‘stops’ format, with multiple stops held over the course of the week-long event. Teams will accumulate points based on their performance in each stop. Team members can substitute as needed for each day’s four-person entry.

The FIBA 3×3 Nations League will be a qualification route to the 2026 FIBA 3×3 U23 World Cup. Conference winners will qualify for the event, set for Sept. 15-19 in Wuhan, China. 

3×3 is played on a half-court with a 10-minute clock and a 12-second shot clock. The first team to 21 points, or the team in the lead at the end of regulation, is the winner.

New Delhi [India], August 18 (ANI): Tero India Managing Director and CEO Chandrakant Singh said the company’s focus on developing 3×3 basketball from the grassroots level can contribute to India’s broader sporting and 2036 Olympic ambitions by creating a structured pathway for players to compete at international levels.
Speaking to ANI on the sidelines of the launch of 3×3 Quest India 2026 on Tuesday, Singh said grassroots development requires sustained effort and the company aims to identify and develop talent while providing players with opportunities to compete against international-level athletes.
“The word you said, ‘grassroots’, it’s a very effort-oriented thing. It takes a lot of time to build and to do this, and that’s why very few people come into this. People like the finished product. So we are developing it from the grassroots level and to define it as a champions’ league, to get people to compete internationally,” Singh said.
He said Tero also plans to bring experienced trainers and expose Indian players to high-level competition to improve their skills and performance.
“We also need to bring good trainers from outside. So with a lot of effort, we are developing grassroots. And over a period of time, you’ll see its impact,” he added.
Chandrakant said Tero plans to introduce different formats of FIBA 3×3 in India over time, including Quest, Light Quest, Challenger and World Series, creating more opportunities for Indian players to compete against top international athletes.
“There are different versions of 3×3 which are played worldwide. One is called Quest, there’s Light Quest, there’s Challenger, there’s World Series. And we’re going to bring all of the formats over a period of time,” he said.
He said the format would allow Indian players to compete against world champions without having to wait for major international events such as the Olympics.
“It’s most fun when you play against world champions, and you can get that opportunity very rarely, but this format provides you that provision that you don’t have to wait to play in the Olympics. You can play with players like those anytime throughout the year,” Singh said.
He added that Tero intends to bring the various 3×3 formats to India under FIBA’s framework.
“So Light Quest, Quest, Challenger, Champions, World Series, we will bring everything to India under FIBA’s banner,” he said.
On Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s vision of developing sports and India’s plans to bid for the 2036 Olympic Games, Chandrakant said Tero sees 3×3 as a sport where India can potentially compete for Olympic medals in the future.
“We realized that his (PM Modi) vision, we take one part. We can’t do everything, and he also can’t do everything, right? So we all have to play our part,” Singh said.
“We feel we have a very good opportunity here in which we can win medals. If not today, then tomorrow or the day after tomorrow, we can win. And that’s why we’ve started working on his vision in this sport,” he added.
Chandrakant said India should focus on winning medals across multiple sports rather than relying on a few disciplines.
“How many medals can you win in one sport? Very few. But if you win one medal in many sports, you can win many medals. So that’s the intention,” he said.
He added that 3×3 has the potential to help India participate and compete successfully at the Olympics.
“We took this sport because it has the potential that we can go to Olympics, win in Olympics. Participation will be the first right. It’s our right; we should play in the Olympics,” Singh said.
On Tero’s partnership with the Basketball Federation of India (BFI), Singh said the collaboration was crucial for developing the sport within the country’s recognised sporting framework.
“Very, very important. See, in any country you are bringing any new structure, any new sport, you have to work within those recognized authorities and their framework,” he said.
He said BFI’s experience, rules and guidance would help Tero develop 3×3 basketball in India in the right manner.
“Our partnership with them is that they will be our mentors. They will guide us where to go and how to do it and what can be done well and how to do it correctly. So that’s their guidance,” Singh said.
Tero Entertainment on Tuesday launched 3×3 Quest India 2026, backed by the Basketball Federation of India (BFI) and endorsed by FIBA. The event is scheduled to be held on September 12 and 13 at DLF Promenade – Emporio in New Delhi.
Unlike traditional five-on-five basketball, 3×3 is played on a half-court with a 12-second shot clock. Games last 10 minutes or end when a team reaches 21 points, making it a fast-paced format suited to live entertainment and younger audiences.
The 3×3 Quest India 2026 will feature teams competing in a knockout format, with the winning team earning an opportunity to compete at the FIBA 3×3 World Series in Mongolia and gain official FIBA ranking points.
3×3 Quest India 2026 marks the first step in Tero’s longer-term vision for the sport in India. Beginning in Delhi, the ambition is to expand participation, create more high-level competitive opportunities and build a platform that connects Indian players and teams with the wider global 3×3 ecosystem, according to a release.
The goal is not simply to stage a successful first event but to help establish India as an important part of the future of 3×3.

MANHATTAN, Kansas – Recent K-State graduate Serena Sundell will continue her active summer in 3×3 basketball, as she will play for Team USA at the FIBA 3×3 U23 World Cup 2025 in Xiong An, China, on September 17-21.

Teaming up with Sundell in the event for Team USA are Taylor Bigby (TCU), Kaety L’Amoreaux (Fairfield) and Zee Spearman (Tennessee).

All games in the FIBA 3×3 U23 World Cup 2025 will be streamed live on YouTube.com/FIBA3x3. The United States has been placed in Pool B and the game schedule is (all times Central): vs. Mexico (Sept. 17, 9:25 p.m.), vs. Philippines (Sept. 17, 11:55 p.m.), vs. Spain (Sept. 19, 9 p.m.), vs. Chile (11:30 p.m., 11:30 p.m.). The top two finishers in the four pools will advance to bracket play on September 21, with the champion to be determined that day.

Sundell, a product of Maryville, Missouri, Sundell has had an active summer, as she played for Team USA in the 2025 FIBA 3×3 Youth Nations League Americas in Punta Arenas, Chile, on July 21-27. She also finished as a runner-up with her 3×3 team at the FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series event in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada, on August 1-2. 

Prior to the event in Canada, Sundell kicked off her 3×3 action this summer by helping her team, B&B, win the 3XBA event at the Spokane Hoopfest on June 27-28 in Spokane, Washington. The 3XBA event featured 32 of the most elite basketball players in the nation.

In addition to her 3×3 action, Sundell signed and played for the Dallas Wings in the WNBA through the end of the 2025 league season.

A 2025 Women’s Basketball Coaches Association (WBCA) and Associated Press (AP) All-America honorable mention selection, Sundell led the nation with a career-high and school record for total assists (262) and paced the nation and led the Big 12 with a career-high for assists per game (7.28 apg) and was second in the Big 12 for assist-turnover ratio (2.52). She recorded a league-best nine games with 10 or more assists.

Sundell was K-State’s second-leading scorer with an average of 14.1 points per game and led the Wildcats with 508 points, which was the second-highest total of her career, on a .501 field goal percentage. Sundell was the only player in the nation in the 2024-25 season and the third player since 1993-94 to register a season with 500 or more points, 250 or more assists and shoot 50.0 percent or better from the field.

With her point (508) and assist (262) totals in the 2024-25 season, Sundell was the first player in Big 12 history to record four seasons with 350 or more points and 150 or more assists. She joined former Wildcat Kayla Goth as the only two players in program history with 500 or more points and 200 or more assists in a season.

In her career, Sundell set the school records for career starts (139) and games played (139). She established the school record and ranks fourth in Big 12 history for career assists with 811 and is second in program history for career assists per game (5.83 apg). She ranks sixth on the K-State career scoring list with 1,771 points. She ranks tied for seventh in school history for career blocks (104).

She was the first player in school history and the 14th in NCAA Division I women’s basketball history with 1,700 or more career points and 800 or more career assists.

Sundell was a 2025 WNBA Draft selection by the Seattle Storm. She was the ninth player in program history to be selected during the WNBA Draft.

Vernon basketball player suits up for Canada in 3×3 play in Tokyo

A Vernon basketball player will spend the August long weekend overseas representing her country.

Cassandra Brown has been named to Canada’s roster for the FIBA (Federation of International Basketball Association) 3 x 3 Women’s Series stop in Tokyo Saturday and Sunday, Aug. 1 and 2.

Returning to the roster are Brown, Paige Crozon (Humboldt, Sask.), Katherine Plouffe (Edmonton), and Merissah Russell (Ottawa), the same quartet that helped Canada finish runner-up at the Marseille stop in France July 4.

Canada lost 15-9 to Neftchi SOCAR of Azerbaijan in the Marseille final.

Crozon, Plouffe and Russell all finished among the tournament’s top-five in player value, while Brown played a key role in Canada’s semifinal win over France, shooting a perfect 100 per cent from the field.

The group will look to build on that performance and make another run to the final in Tokyo.

Canada enters the tournament in Japan as the No. 2 seed and has been drawn into Pool B alongside Mitsubishi Electric (JPN) and Romania.

Round-robin play begins Saturday, August 1, against Romania at 12:50 a.m. PT, followed by Mitsubishi Electric (JPN) at 2:50 a.m. PT.
