KAOHSIUNG (Chinese Taipei) – Shibuya (JPN) completed a remarkable run from the Qualifying Draw to the top of the podium at the FIBA 3×3 Kaohsiung Challenger 2026, edging hosts Taipei WanBao (TPE) 21-19 in a thrilling Final to claim their first Challenger title of the season. Kristaps Gluditis delivered the decisive blow with a game-winning two-pointer, while Taipei WanBao and Utrecht (NED) also secured qualification to FIBA 3×3 World Tour Deqing 2026.

The Winner

Shibuya’s journey to the title was nothing short of extraordinary. After beating Balige (INA) and Phoenix (USA) in the Qualifying Draw, Shibuya carried their momentum into the Main Draw with a statement 21-15 win over hosts Taipei WanBao. They then survived a three-way tie in Pool D to advance alongside the hosts before taking down Raudondvaris Hoptrans (LTU) 21-13 in the Quarter-Finals.

Their biggest test came against top seed Antwerp (BEL) in the Semi-Finals. Shibuya prevailed 21-19 behind four two-pointers from Gluditis, setting up a Final showdown with Taipei. Gluditis was named tournament MVP after finishing with 34 points, 46.2 total player value, 19 highlights, 13 two-pointers and 13 key assists.

The Runner-up

Taipei WanBao gave their home fans plenty to celebrate as they battled all the way to the Final. After bouncing back from their opening loss to Shibuya by defeating Crvena Zvezda (SRB) 22-11, the hosts survived the Quarter-Finals against Princeton (USA), with Mike Efevberha pouring in 14 points, including six two-pointers.

Efevberha continued his outstanding run with 10 points in the Semi-Final victory over Utrecht, carrying Taipei into the Final. They ultimately fell just short against Shibuya but still earned a ticket to Deqing. Efevberha led all scorers in Kaohsiung with 41 points.

The Final

Shibuya and Taipei WanBao produced a Final worthy of the occasion. The Japanese side built an early advantage and led 15-10 with under four minutes remaining. Taipei refused to go away, however, as Efevberha knocked down a two-pointer to bring the hosts level at 19-19. With the title hanging in the balance, Gluditis stepped up. The Shibuya star buried the game-winning two-pointer to complete the 21-19 victory and send his team to the top of the podium.

The Reward

The Kaohsiung title came with a valuable prize: qualification to FIBA 3×3 World Tour Deqing 2026. Shibuya, Taipei WanBao and Utrecht all secured their places in Deqing. Antwerp finished third but had already pre-qualified for the World Tour stop, leaving Utrecht to claim the last available ticket.

SHANGHAI (China) – The field is complete for the FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series Project Redwings Shanghai Final 2026, with Germany claiming the eighth and final berth following the conclusion of WS Takasaki.

Germany complete the field

Germany (GER) secured the final ticket to the Shanghai Final after Mitsubishi Electric were unable to finish among the top three teams at FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series Takasaki 2026.

Mitsubishi entered the final Women’s Series stop with a chance to claim the eighth berth, but their result in Takasaki left them outside the top three places.

As a result, Germany held on to their position in the Women’s Series standings and secured their place at the Shanghai Final.

Germany join the first seven teams that had already punched their tickets to the season finale: Netherlands (NED), Ulaanbaatar Amazons (MGL), Rapid Bucharest (ROU), Neftchi SOCAR (AZE), France (FRA), China (CHN) and Beijing (CHN). They will converge on Shanghai for the season-ending showdown on September 5-6.

Shanghai ready for the season finale

The completed field brings together a diverse mix of national teams, commercial teams and city teams, setting up an intriguing battle for FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series supremacy.

The Netherlands return to the Final after another strong campaign, while Ulaanbaatar Amazons continue their rise as one of the leading forces on the global 3×3 basketball scene.

Rapid Bucharest and Neftchi SOCAR add further European and international firepower, while France will look to cap their FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series campaign with a strong showing in Shanghai.

The hosts will have two teams to cheer for, with China and Beijing both securing their places in the Final. China moved ahead of France in the standings after competing at WS Takasaki, while Beijing had already secured their qualification.

Germany now complete the eight-team lineup and will look to make the most of their opportunity on the Shanghai stage.

The FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series Project Redwings Shanghai Final 2026 will take place on September 5-6 at the West Bund Art Center in Xuhui District, Shanghai.

It will be the second consecutive year that Shanghai hosts the Women’s Series Final, following Canada’s triumph at the 2025 edition.

The event will also mark the fifth Women’s Series event held in China this season, following Chengdu, Shanghai, Xiantao and Jinan.

DEBRECEN (Hungary) – The FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series 2026 heads to Hungary on August 27-28, with a loaded 12-team field set to battle in Debrecen.

Leading the way are top seeds Netherlands (NED), who arrive as one of the benchmark teams of the 2026 season. The Dutch have already captured five FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series stop wins this year, including their last four stops, and will once again be led by Ilse Kuijt as they look to add another winner’s banner to their collection.

Players to Watch

Kuijt has been on a roll for Netherlands throughout the 2026 season, helping the team win four of their five Women’s Series stops while also earning tournament MVP honors twice. She will look to maintain that form in Debrecen, where the Netherlands open their campaign in Pool A against Czechia (CZE) and hosts Hungary (HUN).

Rapid Bucharest (ROU) enter as the No. 2 seed and will be looking to build further momentum behind Hortense Limouzin. The French star has been one of the standout performers on the circuit this season, helping Rapid capture two Women’s Series stop titles and secure outright qualification to the FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series Project Redwings Shanghai Final 2026. A strong showing in Debrecen would give Rapid another chance to build confidence before heading to Shanghai.

Rapid Bucharest face the United States (USA) and Ukraine (UKR) in Pool B, setting up an intriguing group. The Americans, seeded seventh, have already shown their quality this season, with Mikayla Blakes featuring for USA at WS Tokyo and WS Bordeaux, where they finished third. Speaking of Chile, they have gained valuable experience across the Women’s Series this season, recently competing at stops in Caceres, Baku and Bordeaux. Fernanda Ovalle will be one to watch after also helping Chile perform strongly at the FIBA 3×3 Youth Nations League 2026 Americas North leg last month. With that momentum behind them, Chile could prove dangerous in Pool C.

Fourth seeds Beijing (CHN) headline Pool D and surely want to turn their consistent performances into a first Women’s Series stop title of the season. Zhang ZhiTing has been among the circuit’s top 10 scorers and will once again be the focal point for Beijing as they take on Spain (ESP) and host side Debrecen (HUN).

Spain enter as the No. 5 seed and arrive in Debrecen fresh from a major confidence boost. The Spanish side captured their second Women’s Series stop title of the season at WS Bordeaux, with Helena Oma named tournament MVP after helping Spain defeat France in the Final.

Oma will now look to carry that momentum into Debrecen as Spain face Beijing and hosts Debrecen in Pool D. The home side will have the backing of the local crowd as they look to make their mark against two of the tournament’s leading contenders.

SINGAPORE – Hungary, Lithuania and the Philippines in the women’s competition, along with New Zealand, Czechia and Brazil in the men’s draw, secured the final tickets to the FIBA 3×3 World Cup 2026 in Warsaw, Poland after an action-packed finale at the FIBA 3×3 World Cup Qualifier 2026 at The Kallang.

With everything on the line, Day 2 delivered clutch performances, dramatic finishes and standout displays as teams battled through the qualification rounds for a place on the global stage.

Men: New Zealand shine, Czechia and Brazil complete the lineup

New Zealand confirmed their place at the FIBA 3×3 World Cup 2026 after a thrilling 19-17 overtime win over Brazil, with Te Tuhi Lewis and Chris Martin displaying their stellar tournament form.

The dynamic Tall Blacks were instrumental throughout the tournament, providing scoring bursts and leadership as New Zealand navigated high-pressure moments. In the decisive game, they showed composure late before sealing the win with a clutch two-pointer in overtime.

Czechia also punched their ticket with an impressive 20-16 comeback victory over Italy. After trailing midway, they produced a strong finishing run, with Filip Novotny leading the charge with 11 points to power them to qualification.

BORDEAUX (France) – The race for the FIBA 3×3 World Tour continues to intensify as the FIBA 3×3 Bordeaux Challenger 2026 brings some of the biggest names in the Pro Circuit to the Placette de Munich on August 21-22, with three coveted tickets to FIBA 3×3 World Tour Deqing 2026 on the line. As the 19th Challenger of the season, Bordeaux offers another major opportunity for teams to turn Challenger success into a place on China’s very own “3×3 city.”

Heavyweights aplenty

The field features an impressive collection of teams from the top end of the FIBA 3×3 World Tour 2026 standings, setting up a fierce battle for the title and qualification.

Ub (SRB), currently first overall, headline the tournament alongside No. 2 Liman (SRB) and No. 5 Skyliners (GER). All three have established themselves among the most dangerous teams on the FIBA 3×3 World Tour this season and arrive in Bordeaux with serious title ambitions.

Skyliners, in particular, are hoping for daylight after crashing out of the recent Singapore Challenger in pool play.

UTSUNOMIYA (Japan) – The official seeding has been confirmed for the FIBA 3×3 World Tour Utsunomiya Opener 2026, taking place on April 25-26.

A total of 14 teams will compete in one of 3×3 basketball’s most established stops, with a mix of FIBA 3×3 World Tour contenders, rising teams and local challengers aiming to start the season strong.

Ub lead the chase

Powerhouse Ub SRB enter as the No. 1 seed and will again be the team to beat, led by Nenad Nerandžić, one of the most reliable performers on the circuit.

Khulan Onolbaatar will once again be at the heart of Ulaanbaatar’s campaign. The 3×3 basketball veteran has helped drive the Amazons’ standout season so far and will look to lead the top seed back to the top of the podium in Singapore.

China arrive as the No. 2 seed and will be looking to respond after a difficult ninth-place finish at the FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series CS Rapid Stop 2026. Yang Hengyu remains one of the team’s key offensive threats and will be central to China’s push for their second Women’s Series stop win of the season.

Australia, seeded third, return to Women’s Series action after winning the FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series Poitiers Stop 2026 back in June. Marena Whittle and company currently sit 12th in the standings, giving them another opportunity to make up ground with another deep run in Singapore.

Thailand are seeded fourth after taking third place at WS Batam. Rattiyakorn Udomsuk will look to lead the team one step further as Thailand chase their first Women’s Series stop win of the season.

Beijing are the No. 5 seed and arrive in Singapore with plenty of recent momentum. They have reached the Semi-Finals at three of their last four Women’s Series stops, but a breakthrough title has remained just out of reach. Zhang ZhiTing and her teammates will look to change that this time around.

Mitsubishi Electric (JPN), seeded sixth, will also have unfinished business. Fuyuko Takahashi and the Japanese side came close to their first Women’s Series stop win in WS Tokyo and will look to carry that momentum into Singapore.

The Netherlands U25 (NED) are seeded seventh and enter the event after a top-eight finish at WS Tokyo. Quinta van Schijndel will lead the young Dutch side as they look to take another step forward and challenge for their first Women’s Series stop win.

Mongolia (MGL) complete the seeded teams in Pool A alongside top seed Ulaanbaatar Amazons and Slovenia (SLO). Pool B features China, the Netherlands U25 and host side Singapore (SGP), while Australia and Mitsubishi Electric will await the winner of Qualifying Draw A in Pool C. Thailand and Beijing headline Pool D, with the winner of Qualifying Draw B completing the group.

The qualifying draw will feature six teams fighting for the final two places in the Main Draw. Madagascar (MAD), Lion City (SGP) and Indonesia (INA) will meet in Qualifying Draw A, while Manila (PHI), Brazil (BRA) and Vietnam (VIE) will battle it out in Qualifying Draw B.

With established Women’s Series contenders, emerging U25 talent and several teams looking to make a breakthrough all converging on one court, Singapore promises another competitive stop on the 2026 calendar. The race is on.

ORLEANS (France) – The FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series 2026 heads to Orléans on June 19-20 with another highly competitive field featuring 16 teams eager to continue their push up the standings. Led by top seed Neftchi SOCAR (AZE), the tournament brings together established contenders, experienced national teams and ambitious challengers looking to make a statement on French soil.

Neftchi SOCAR arrive as the No.1 seed after consistently proving themselves among the FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series elite this season. The Azerbaijani powerhouse will face stiff competition from second-seeded Amsterdam (NED), who continue to establish themselves as one of Europe’s strongest squads, while Spain (ESP) enter as the third seed and will once again be among the favorites thanks to their proven international pedigree.

China’s Beijing (CHN) have been one of the most exciting teams on the circuit and enter the tournament as the fourth seed. Chile (CHI) and Italy (ITA) round out the top six and both possess the talent and experience required to challenge for a podium finish.

The home fans will have plenty to cheer for with Paris Région IDF (FRA) seeded seventh and France U25 (FRA) also joining the field. Paris Région IDF have a chance to showcase their ability to compete with top-level opposition, while the French youngsters will be eager to gain valuable experience against some of the best teams on the FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series.

Uganda (UGA) enter as the eighth seed and will look to continue the strong progress they have shown on the international stage. They are joined by Mitsubishi Electric (JPN), Ireland (IRL), Kenya (KEN), Hungary (HUN), Prague (CZE), Slovakia (SVK) and Puerto Rico (PUR), all of whom are capable of producing upsets at the Place du Martroi.

One of the crucial opportunities to accumulate ranking points and build momentum as the season finale approaches, the FIBA 3×3 WS CS Rapid stop brings together many of the circuit’s most consistent contenders. Rapid Bucharest will look to reward the home fans with a title after previous disappointment on home soil at FIBA 3×3 WS Bucharest last month, while the Netherlands (NED) arrive chasing a third consecutive Women’s Series stop win.

Germany (GER) and France (FRA) remain among the strongest teams still searching for their first Women’s Series stop wins of 2026, while China (CHN) enter with confidence after already booking a WS stop win in Xiantao. Lithuania (LTU), Austria (AUT), Latvia (LAT) and Beijing (CHN) are also among the marquee teams in a highly competitive main draw that promises another weekend of elite 3×3 basketball action.
