DEBRECEN (Hungary) – The 2026 edition of the FIBA 3×3 World Tour Debrecen marks 12 consecutive years of 3×3 basketball in Hungary’s second-largest city, dating back to the FIBA 3×3 U18 World Championships in 2015. Since 2016, Debrecen has also been a fixture on the FIBA 3×3 World Tour, with this year’s event marking its 11th consecutive World Tour stop.

Reflecting on that journey, István Becsky, Head of the Local Organizing Committee and Board Member of the Hungarian Basketball Federation, said:

“It is a tremendous honour and a great pride for us that Debrecen has been hosting FIBA 3×3 basketball events for 12 consecutive years. We have had a front-row seat to the sport’s remarkable journey, witnessing how an initiative that was still in its early years in 2015 has grown into one of the world’s most popular urban sports and earned its place on the Olympic programme.

Debrecen is an iconic venue with a truly unique atmosphere. Both players and fans are always happy to return year after year, and I am delighted that immersive livestreaming now allows people around the world to experience a glimpse of that atmosphere for themselves.”

This year’s edition has introduced a major first for the sport, with the first live 3D broadcast of a 3×3 basketball event bringing a new dimension to the viewing experience through L1VE technology.

The innovation off the court was matched by plenty of intensity on it. In Ub’s (SRB) Pool A clash against Élancourt (FRA), No. 1-ranked men’s 3×3 basketball player Strahinja Stojacic beat the buzzer with a game-winning two-pointer to seal the victory. In the Final, Fabian Giessmann delivered the decisive moment for Baskets Bonn (GER), knocking down a two-pointer over Amsterdam RABOBANK’s (NED) Worthy de Jong to secure the title.

The FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series produced a piece of history in Debrecen, with the Netherlands extending their winning streak to 25 consecutive games and claiming their fifth straight Women’s Series stop victory of the season. The remarkable run underlined the Dutch side’s consistency and added another milestone to an already eventful week.

The FIBA 3×3 World Tour brought its own share of storylines, starting with a particularly competitive Qualifying Draw. Four of the six teams were ranked inside the World Tour’s top 20, with two more inside the top 30, leaving just two Main Draw spots up for grabs. The result was a highly competitive opening stage, with several established teams forced to fight for their place in the field.

Baskets Bonn arrived in Debrecen having won nine consecutive World Tour games, including back-to-back WT stop titles in Amsterdam and Lausanne. They extended that run in Hungary, claiming their third straight World Tour stop title and stretching their winning streak to 16 consecutive World Tour games (including QD games) — the longest such run on the circuit this season.

From hosting its first international 3×3 basketball event at the FIBA 3×3 U18 World Championships in 2015 to welcoming the World Tour for an 11th consecutive year, the city has built a lasting relationship with the discipline while continuing to develop the event and the fan experience.

The event continues to evolve alongside the discipline, creating new experiences for players, fans and audiences around the world while building on a tradition that now spans more than a decade.

DEBRECEN (Hungary) – Baskets Bonn make it 3 stop wins in the season, defeating Amsterdam RABOBANK (NED) 21 – 17 in the Final to win the FIBA 3×3 World Tour Debrecen 2026 on August 30. 

Coming all the way from the Qualifying Draw, the German side dominated their way to the Final. They defeated Miami 21 – 17 in the Semi-Finals to book yet another matchup against Amsterdam, a repeat of their finals win in WT Amsterdam.

Despite finding themselves in foul trouble, Baskets Bonn never relented their control, maintaining their physical advantage against another offensive force in the Worthy de Jong-led Amsterdam side.

While the lead belonged to Baskets Bonn late on, de Jong made big shots to mount a comeback, pulling it back to only a 2-point deficit at 17 – 19. With all the pressure in the world, it was Fabian Giessmann who once again answered the call for his side, drilling an incredible two-piece to earn Baskets Bonn a huge win in Debrecen. 

Giessmann once again was the star of the show for his team. The 21-year-old was unstoppable in Debrecen, scoring 45 points across the 5 games since pool phase, including a whopping 12 in the Final against Amsterdam. He took home MVP honors for his heroic efforts to lead Baskets Bonn to victory. 

Also in Debrecen, Miami’s (USA) Jackson Trapp won the Tippmix Shoot-Out contest while Piotr Zawiślak won the Tippmix dunk contest.

The FIBA 3×3 World Tour makes its way to Deqing next on September 26 – 27, where many of the world’s best 3×3 basketball teams will continue their race for valuable ranking points and another World Tour title.

The FIBA 3×3 World Tour Debrecen 2026 became the first FIBA 3×3 event available through L1VE, giving fans a new way to immersively experience the action from almost anywhere.

DEBRECEN (Hungary) – Baskets Bonn (GER) were unstoppable in pool play, going unbeaten on Day 1 of FIBA 3×3 World Tour Debrecen 2026 on August 29.

BASKETS BONN

There seems to be no stopping the rising stars from Germany as they showed out on Day 1. They went unbeaten in Qualifying Draw, defeating Kaunas and Barcelona to book their spot into the pool phase. Fabian Giessmann was once again the leading force in their efforts. 

They started pool action with a statement, a 20-11 victory over a contending Liman. They took down equally stiff competition in their final game of the day against Ulaanbaatar, 21 – 15 victors. Fabian Giessmann handled business yet again, particularly in their game against the Mongolian team where he scored a whopping 14 points to lead his side to the win.

Ub, Amsterdam and Miami also finished their days with a perfect pool record, topping their groups ahead of the decisive Day 2 slate of games.

WORTHY DE JONG (Amsterdam)

Hype Worthy is back with a bang! 

He made his return to World Tour action in Debrecen and instantly made his presence felt. In their opening game against Liberec, Amsterdam found themselves on the ropes. That was until Worthy de Jong took over, firing from deep with clutch shot after another. He went on to drill the game-winning dagger as well, putting up 11 points with 5 2-pointers to lead his side to victory.

He chipped in with another 6-point performance in their win over Raudondvaris as the Dutch closed the day with a perfect record. De Jong is feeling himself as they prepare for the win on Day 2.
