NAGOYA (Japan) – Liman (SRB) captured the FIBA 3×3 Go Too! Group Aichi Challenger 2026 on October 11, defeating Shanghai (CHN) 21-17 in the Final at LaLaport NAGOYA minato AQULS. Led by tournament MVP Nemanja Zigon, the Serbian side claimed their fourth Challenger stop win, while Toronto (CAN), Shibuya (JPN) and Skyliners (GER) secured their places at the FIBA 3×3 World Tour Manama 2026.

The Winner

Liman navigated a competitive field to lift the Aichi Challenger banner, overcoming Cibona Ph.Classic (CRO) 17-13 in the Quarter-Finals before defeating Toronto 21-17 in the Semi-Finals.

The Serbian side’s run included a dramatic pool-stage encounter against Shibuya, which ended in a 21-20 overtime defeat. Liman responded in the knockout rounds, delivering when it mattered most to reach the Final.

Against Shanghai, Liman produced another composed performance to secure the 21-17 victory. Already pre-qualified for World Tour Manama, the Serbian powerhouse added another title to their campaign and reinforced their status among the leading teams on the FIBA 3×3 Pro Circuit.

The Runner-up

Shanghai also enjoyed an impressive run to the Final, showcasing their scoring power throughout the tournament.

The Chinese side opened with a 21-13 win over Seef (BRN) before defeating Toronto 22-18 in pool play. They maintained their momentum in the knockout stage, beating Crvena Zvezda (SRB) 22-15 in the Quarter-Finals and Shibuya 21-17 in the Semi-Finals.

Despite falling short against Liman, Shanghai finished second and confirmed their place at World Tour Manama, having already secured qualification before the Aichi Challenger.

The Final

The Final brought together two of the tournament’s strongest teams, with Liman and Shanghai battling for the Aichi banner. Liman ultimately prevailed 21-17, finding the points needed to close out the contest and secure the championship. Dušan Popović topped all scorers in the Final with 9 points. The victory capped a strong knockout-stage run for the Serbian side, which overcame two tough opponents before defeating Shanghai in the Final.

The Reward

Zigon earned MVP honors after showcasing consistently high productivity throughout the tournament. The Liman standout recorded 26 total points, seven drives and 34.0 total player value, ranking third in the field in the latter category and fourth in drives.

His contribution helped Liman complete their title-winning campaign, while the tournament also determined three additional qualifiers for FIBA 3×3 World Tour Manama 2026.

Shibuya, Toronto and Skyliners secured the remaining places among the eligible teams. Liman, Shanghai and Cibona Ph.Classic had already pre-qualified, meaning all six teams will be part of the Manama field.

As the 27th Challenger of the season and the penultimate stop before Belo Horizonte, the Go Too! Group Aichi Challenger presents a crucial opportunity for contenders to strengthen their campaigns and secure a place on the FIBA 3×3 World Tour.

Contenders collide

Liman (SRB) headline the field as the second-ranked team in the 2026 season standings. With two World Tour titles and three Challenger victories already under their belt, the Serbian powerhouse arrive in Nagoya with a proven winning formula and the firepower to make another deep run.

Skyliners (GER), ranked eighth overall, are another major threat. The German side have already captured a Challenger stop win this season and will look to build on that success against a competitive field.

Korean and Japanese 3×3 basketball teams will compete for spots in international tournaments. With players from Dongguk University and former Japanese 3×3 national team members participating, a fierce Korea-Japan match is expected at the KXO Hapcheon stop.

KXO (Korea 3×3 Basketball Federation) will hold the ‘NH Nonghyup Bank 2026 KXO 3×3 Hapcheon STOP’ on the special court at Hapcheon Multipurpose Gymnasium in Gyeongnam on the 10th and 11th. This tournament will be held in four divisions: U15, U18, men’s open and KXO STOP.

KXO (Chairman Park Geon-yeon) and the Hapcheon County Basketball Association (Chairman Kim Tae-su) are hosting, and Hapcheon County (county chief Kim Yun-cheol) and the Hapcheon County Sports Council (Chairman Yu Dal-hyung) are sponsoring. The event was originally scheduled to be held at the special court at Hapcheon Daejonggak, but was moved to Hapcheon Multipurpose Gymnasium due to a weekend rain forecast.

Hapcheon County, which is hosting a KXO STOP for the first time this year, is a region known for Haeinsa, which houses the Tripitaka Koreana woodblocks and Janggyeongpanjeon, a UNESCO world heritage site, and Gayasan, which boasts outstanding natural scenery. The tournament is expected to be held alongside the 4th Hapcheon Hwangto Hanwoo Festival, which begins on the 9th, creating an event that blends sports and a local festival.

The centerpiece of the tournament is the KXO STOP, which will decide the berth for the ‘FIBA 3×3 Challenger 2027.’ Four teams are expected to participate: Hongcheon and Dongguk University from Korea and Sagamihara and Drive Stage from Japan. As teams representing Korea and Japan face off, it is drawing attention as a “mini Korea-Japan match.”

From Japan, Sagamihara, centered on national team player Igo Kenya, will participate. Drive Stage, appearing on the KXO STOP stage for the first time this time, is also expected to showcase Japan’s characteristically organized 3×3 basketball.

The challenges from the Korean teams are formidable as well. Hongcheon, which showed impressive performance at the FIBA 3×3 Hongcheon Challenger 2026, will challenge for the title led by Adrian Clayborn Jr. and David Reimer. Dongguk University, composed of Park Gee-won, Noh Seong-hyun, Yoon Joo-hyuk and Lee Jong-wook, will also look for an upset.

Despite being held in Hapcheon, which is a distance from the metropolitan area, interest remains high, with more than 50 teams on the waiting list to participate. The tournament begins at 9 a.m. on the 10th.

Preliminary matches of the tournament will be streamed live on YouTube. The KXO STOP semifinals and final, and the U18 final, will be broadcast on KBS N Sports as recorded coverage.

MADRID (Spain) – Ub (SRB) continued their dominant 2026 campaign by winning the FIBA 3×3 Madrid Challenger stop on October 4, defeating Baskets Bonn (GER) 17-13 in the Final at Pabellon Amaya Valdemoro in Alcobendas. Led by tournament MVP Dejan Majstorovic, Ub secured their fifth Challenger stop win of the season, while Baskets Bonn and Barcelona (ESP) also booked their tickets to the FIBA 3×3 World Tour Manama 2026.

The Winner

Ub once again showed why they remain one of the most formidable teams on the FIBA 3×3 Pro Circuit, navigating a challenging field to lift another banner.

The Serbian powerhouse opened their campaign with a 21-16 win over Diadema (BRA), with Filip Kaluđerović’s nine points leading the way. They followed that up with another 21-16 victory against Liberec DEKSTONE (CZE) to sweep their pool and advance directly to the Quarter-Finals.

Ub maintained their momentum in the knockout stage, overcoming Ulaanbaatar MMC Energy (MGL) 21-16 before producing a dominant 21-9 Semi-Final victory over Skyliners (GER). They exploded out of the gates with a 10-3 run and never looked back, sinking five two-pointers to reach the Final with more than three minutes remaining.

Against Baskets Bonn, Ub delivered another composed performance, with every player contributing at least four points in a balanced attack that proved decisive. The victory marked their fifth Challenger stop win of the season and added another milestone to what has been an outstanding campaign.

The Runner-up

Baskets Bonn once again demonstrated their championship credentials, reaching the Final after an impressive run through the knockout stage.

The German side defeated Liberec DEKSTONE 22-15 in the Quarter-Finals, with Denzel Agyeman leading the charge with nine points. They then overcame Barcelona 21-18 in a hard-fought Semi-Final, powered by Fabian Giessmann’s 10 points and seven rebounds.

Barcelona threatened to force a late turnaround, with Jaume Zanca’s two-pointer cutting the deficit to 19-18. However, Agyeman and Sidi Beikame scored the last two points to send Baskets Bonn into the titular game against Ub.

Despite falling short against the Serbians, Baskets Bonn secured their place at FIBA 3×3 World Tour Manama 2026, adding another important result to a season that has already featured three World Tour victories and three Challenger stop wins.

The Final

The tournamet’s Final was a physical, defensive-minded battle, with neither side finding it easy to generate clean scoring opportunities.

Ub gradually gained control through their collective offensive effort, with all four players contributing at least four points. Majstorovic chipped in five points, while the Serbian side’s balanced scoring proved enough to keep Baskets Bonn at bay.

O Diadema perdeu os dois jogos que fez neste sábado (3), pelo grupo A do Challenger de Madri, etapa do circuito mundial de basquete 3×3. Pela manhã, foi superado pelo melhor time do campeonato, o sérvio Ub por 21 a 16, e, depois, pelo Liberec Dekstone, da República Tcheca, por 21 a 18.

A equipe brasileira começou melhor e chegou a liderar por três pontos. O Ub reagiu, virou por um instante, e a partida seguiu até o empate em 12 a 12, já nos minutos finais. Dali em diante, o time sérvio se impôs: faltas dos brasileiros deram lances livres ao Ub, que abriu cinco de frente perto do fim.
