SHANGHAI (China) – The field is complete and the stage is set for the FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series Project Redwings Shanghai Final 2026, with the seedings and pools confirmed for the season-ending showdown on September 5-6.
Eight of the world’s top women’s 3×3 basketball teams will battle for glory at the West Bund Artistic Center, Xuhui District, with the Netherlands entering as the No. 1 seed and Ulaanbaatar Amazons (MGL) seeded second.
Rapid Bucharest (ROU) and Neftchi SOCAR (AZE) round out the top four, while France (FRA), China (CHN), Beijing (CHN) and Germany (GER) complete the eight-team field.
The draw has produced two intriguing pools, with plenty of firepower spread across both groups.
Pool A features second-seeded Ulaanbaatar Amazons alongside Rapid Bucharest, China and Beijing. The Mongolian side, winners at WS Ulaanbaatar and WS Jinan this season, will headline a pool that also features both of the host nation’s representatives, setting up an intriguing battle for the two spots in the knockout rounds.
Rapid Bucharest will look to challenge the Amazons after also collecting two stop victories at WS Caceres and WS Baku, while China enter as the only other team in the pool to have lifted a winners’ banner this season following their triumph at WS Xiantao.
Beijing, meanwhile, will be looking for their first stop victory of the season, but arrive in Shanghai with 660 tour points — the fourth-highest total in the field — and will have home-court advantage on their side.
An all-European Pool B sees top seeds Netherlands take on Neftchi SOCAR, France and Germany in a loaded group.
The Netherlands, who have won six stops this season, enter as the team to beat on paper. Neftchi have also enjoyed a strong campaign, claiming victories at WS Orleans and WS Marseille, while Germany head into Shanghai fresh from their only stop win of the season at WS Bangkok.
France have consistently challenged for the proverbial top step of the podium and will be looking to finally turn those near-misses into a title in Shanghai, having finished runner-up at WS Orleans, WS Jinan and WS Bordeaux.
With the pools now set, all that remains is for the action to begin in Shanghai, where eight teams will battle for the title and a new champion will be crowned at the FIBA 3×3 Women’s Series Project Redwings Shanghai Final 2026.
